What Is an LCR Meter?
An LCR meter measures the impedance of a component (Inductance, Capacitance, Resistance — hence the name) by applying a small AC test signal across a range of frequencies and analyzing the resulting voltage and current, including their phase relationship. This gives you not just a single value but the full impedance behavior, including parasitic effects like ESR and dielectric loss that a simple ohmmeter can't reveal.
